Join us to discuss fatphobia in fandom, from how we imagine default main characters, the simultaneous dismissal and tokenization of large bodies, and the erasure of fat characters in both canon and fanfiction. We will discuss how to write/illustrate large bodies with the respect and lust they deserve in a celebration of fat sexuality, intersectionality, and liberation.

Panelists Ada (A.LoveUnlaced Illustrations) and Mandi (MischiefMandied) will share their experiences making fat-positive content in fandom. Ada specializes in drawing fat, sexy, colorful bodies in fanart and bookish spaces. Mandi is a fanfic author who strives to share how loved and desired fat bodies can be in their works.

This panel will largely focus on the Harry Potter fandom but will include discussions of fandom culture as a whole.
