Suffering is a core factor in so much of humanity's fiction. From Buffy to Harry Potter, an almost Sisyphean view of suffering begins to emerge - one that is eternal, cyclical, and necessary. What does this mean for our heroes, and, more pointedly, what does this mean that these are the stories we so often create and consume?
