Horcruxes are hidden all over the Convention Center! Horcruxes will be objects/artwork/markings that already exist at the Convention Center, not things added for LeakyCon.  They are all hidden in plain sight in the common areas of the building.

As you find each Horcrux, you’ll capture an image of it with your muggle device. If you find them all, return to the PDXpelliarmus table to earn points for your House! You can start whenever you like, and there is no time limit. Teamwork is encouraged! Start your hunt with the clues here!

Cornish pixies have gotten loose at LeakyCon and we need help finding them!  These pixies have proven particularly difficult to find, as they are using magic to make themselves look like ordinary people, but you can still identify them by their blue wings and antenna!

This activity is for KIDS ONLY, as adults are known to be too susceptible to pixie trickery. (See Gilderoy Lockhart’s treatise, “Parading With Pixies” for more information.)

If you spot one of these pixies, you can capture it using the IMMOBULUS charm! Once they are captured, pixies will offer a reward in the form of a sticker. PDXpelliarmus Pixie Pandemonium is ongoing throughout the weekend during the same hours that the Marketplace is open.

Extremist hate and radicalisation is a growing problem in American culture, but the motivations of its members remain largely shrouded in mystery to those outside of these belief systems. Are Death Eaters born or made? How can we use the study of cult psychology to dismantle extremist beliefs? And is there hope for those still trapped in the cycle of hate? 
This lecture will take its audience inside the mind of a radical, using metaphors from magical extremism to explore how these beliefs are formed and what drives this behavior, along with the psychological and cognitive changes that take place as a result of long-term indoctrination. We’ll learn the warning signs and risk factors for radicalization, and discover why ex-radicals are our greatest allies in the fight against hate, as well as how to support those working towards personal growth and change.

As consent culture has improved, so has the quality of fanfiction. Join us (Sex Educator Rae and Data Scientist Makenzie) as we fangirl hard in an academic way about the virtues of modern dirty fanfiction as an educational media. Themes explored will include consent, kink, and queerness. Side quests will include a crash course in current consent language and data science. Cornish pixies have gotten loose at LeakyCon and we need help finding them!  These pixies have proven particularly difficult to find, as they are using magic to make themselves look like ordinary people, but you can still identify them by their blue wings and antenna!

This activity is for KIDS ONLY, as adults are known to be too susceptible to pixie trickery. (See Gilderoy Lockhart’s treatise, “Parading With Pixies” for more information.)

If you spot one of these pixies, you can capture it using the IMMOBULUS charm! Once they are captured, pixies will offer a reward in the form of a sticker. PDXpelliarmus Pixie Pandemonium is ongoing throughout the weekend during the same hours that the Marketplace is open.
